With effect from the 1st June, 2006 Kendrick Homes have changed their corporate logo.

The old "Kicking K" has been retained by the Construction Division for the time being.

Kendrick Homes latest award

Kendrick Homes 'Friar Court' development in Worcester was "Highly Commended" by judges at the prestigious Birmingham Evening Mail Housing Design Awards in Birmingham.

The event, on 28th September, was held at the International Convention Centre, and was attended by hundreds of people from the house-building industry. Friar Court was entered in the 'Brownfield/Urban Regeneration' Category in recognition of the re-use of a formerly derelict city centre site.

Details of the scheme, which was designed by architects Development Design Partnership of Stourbridge, can be found under the 'Developments' section of the web site.

Site Managers' League Table

In keeping with the increased focus on construction industry health & safety issues and the introduction of updated guidelines and legislation, the last two years have seen a major overhaul in the way the Group deals with its health and safety responsibilities.

The Directors are pleased to note the improved performance and proactive response from staff.

Following on from this, a new Health & Safety initiative began in July with the formation of the Site Managers' League Table.

The objective is to score each site manager on a monthly basis for their on site health and safety performance.

The league table will be issued every quarter with the winner receiving a prize. The overall winner will be the site manager who has accumulated the least points at the end of the year.

May the best man win!

Kendrick pursues accreditation

Following audit and review meetings with representatives of ‘Investors in People’, the Directors decided to pursue full accreditation for the Kendrick Group.

The first step was the appointment of an internal “champion”, Christina James (pictured), to act as liaison with IIP in the monitoring of Personnel procedures and the implementation of such changes as are considered appropriate for a forward thinking organisation which values its staff and wishes to demonstrate commitment to personnel development.

The next step was a short presentation to all staff to explain the Investors in People principles and the award process. This was presented by Graham Ratcliffe of Black Country Chamber and Business Link, the organisation with whom we are working.

With ‘Investors in People’ there is no final step; it is all about continual improvement and development, and as a company we are committed to this aim.
